DHANGADHI: The Three Star Club has won the title of the sixth edition of Chief Minister Sudurpaschim Khaptad Gold Cup International Football Tournament by defeating rival Manang Marsyangdi Club by 2-0 on Saturday.
In the final held on Saturday at Dhangadhi Stadium, the Three Star became the champion after defeating the rival Manang Marsyangdi Club by 2-0.
With this victory, the Three Star became the champion of the Khaptad Gold Cup for the first time.
Anil Maharjan and captain Bikram Lama scored one goal each in Three Star’s win.
Anil gave the team an early lead in the 73rd minute of the match through a free kick.
Then captain Bikram scored a goal in the fourth minute of injury time to give Three Star a 2-0 win.
Along with the title, Three Star has received 21 lakh rupees. Manang, who became the runner-up, received 10 lakh rupees.
10 teams including 6 teams of ‘A’ division, two foreign teams, the Bagmati Youth Club, and the host club participated in the tournament organized by the Sudurpaschim-11 Sports Club.
