Usury victims reach Baluwatar to meet PM Dahal



KATHMANDU: The loan-sharking victims have reached Baluwatar to meet Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’to narrate their grievances in person and seek solution of it.

Prime Minister Dahal has called them to Baluwatar after a week of their arrival in Kathmandu.

Earlier, they had taken to various protests seeking attention of the government and staged sit-in in front of Baluwatar, the Prime Minister’s official residence.

The government has formed a negotiation committee to address the loan-sharking victims’ problems. The victims held various levels of discussions with the Committee; however, they could not reach to any agreement.

According to Baluwatar sources, PM Dahal will discuss the 10-point demands set by the victims.

The victims said that they will hold talks and continue their protest until their demands are addressed.
