Province 1 State Assembly session begins today



BIRATNAGAR: The first session of Province 1 State Assembly begins today.

The Provincial Assembly, which will formally start its second term today, will have the challenge and responsibility to give a name to the province along with government formation, enacting laws and passing the budget.

The first meeting of the first session will be chaired by senior member Gayananda Mandal.

The CPN-UML and the Maoist Center are likely to form a governmentin Province 1.

The UML has 40 members and the Maoist Center has 13 in the Province 1 assembly.

Nepali Congress is the second largest party with 29 members in the state assembly.
