PM Dahal pledges good governance, development



CHITWAN: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has pledged to engage himself every single day in ensuring good governance and carrying out development activities. He also vowed to address the necessities of the country and the people.

“I have thought that I would commit myself to maintaining good governance and carry out development activities throughout the rest of my life. During this tenure, I have promised to cut down on speeches and serve people,” he said while addressing a function organized on the diamond jubilee of the Narayani Namuna Secondary School in Bharatpur on Saturday.

He stressed the need for resolving economic problems in the country, and maintaining good governance, and controlling corruption and anomalies. “I have taken a decision to end problems in various sectors facing people. I can take even ‘harsh’ steps in hearing and addressing their problems,” PM Dahal reminded.

Dahal also appealed to all Nepali people to come together to start a journey to good governance and prosperity. Stating that education is the base for civilization, culture, good governance and development of a country, he emphasized on the delivery of quality education.

Also, he pledged to do his best in providing assistance to construct physical infrastructures for the school.

On the occasion, he handed awards to the people who contributed to the school. Similarly, he unveiled the diamond gate and pillar, and laid the foundation stone of a building for the school.

Also on the occasion, the school Principal Purna Prasad Dawadi presented the school progress report.

Established on 20 May, 1963 with four students, the school now offers education from Grade one to 12 to more than 3,500 students.

Earlier in Kathmandu on Saturday itself, PM Dahal directed Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane to ensure good governance and security to the people.

He made this direction in a meeting at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu today morning.
