Maoist Center elects Jamkattel Bagmati province PP leader

KATHMANDU: Shalikram Jamkattel has been elected as the leader of CPN (Maoist Center) parliamentary party (PP) in Bagmati province.

The party’s PP meeting held on Saturday unanimously elected Jamkattel as the leader.

Former Social Development Minister Yuvraj Dulal and Bagmati Province Chairman Saral Sahayatri Paudel had also shown interest to be the PP leader. However, the meeting elected the former Minister of Internal Affairs and Law Jamkattel as the PP leader.

Paudel expressed dissatisfaction at the PP decision. He demanded that there should be an election for the leader of the parliamentary party.

The Maoist Center, which became the third party in Bagmati, has got 21 MPs.
