NC lost pivotal role due to lack of homework, vision: NC Gen Secretaries

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary duo Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma have admitted that they have fallen behind in ruling politics this time because they could not take enough precautions.

Issuing a joint press release on the occasion of Reconciliation Day on Saturday, the General Secretaries admitted that although Nepali Congress succeeded in placing itself in first position through the people’s votes, the party could not retain the ruling power due to lack of enough homework and precautions while dealing with other political parties.

“We got the position of the first party from the votes of the Nepalese people. However, due to lack of enough homework and precautions to form a coalition government, we are only lagging behind in power politics this time,” the General Secretaries said, adding, “Yet, we want to share that we never betrayed or showed dishonesty to the people by promising an alliance in the general election and breaking it afterward.”

Stating that NC has become the opposition despite being the largest party in the House of Representatives, they urged the leadership to admit the weaknesses, ensure transparency and go ahead united after the genuine self-evaluation and thoughtful planning.
