Suspended CJ Rana at Singha Durbar to furnish clarification to Impeachment Recommendation Committee



KATHMANDU: Suspended Chief Justice (CJ) Cholendra Shumsher Rana has reached Singha Durbar to furnish an explanation to the Impeachment Recommendation Committee of the Parliament.

The Committee is seeking clarification from suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana about the allegations put against him.

Suspended CJ Rana is furnishing his clarification before the Committee at the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee meeting room today.

In today’s meeting, Rana will furnish clarification against the allegations against him.

The Nepal Bar Association and the Supreme Bar Association submitted evidence documents and links to media reports as evidence of the impeachment against Rana.

The Impeachment Recommendation Committee has been entrusted to complete its work within three months.

The House of Representatives decided to send the impeachment proposal against Rana to the Committee on July 31.

The ruling party filed the impeachment motion against Rana last year with 21 charges.

There are allegations that Rana sought a share in the cabinet and constitutional appointments, bargained with the executive, set the bench on economic and political issues, and committed corruption.
