Video X-ray service at village eases pregnant women

RAMPUR: In absence of video X-ray services at village, pregnant women in Nisdi Rural Municipality of Palpa had to travel to headquarters Tansen and Rampur.

They had to spend whole day to receive video x-ray services before. Now the situation has changed.

At present the pregnant women here do not need to travel outside in search of the service.

The rural municipality itself brought into operation the free rural video x-ray service targeting the pregnant women. Health Section Coordinator at Nisdi rural municipality Rem Bahadur Disa shared that they started providing a day service each month through health posts operational in all seven wards.

He added that video x-ray service would be made available at Bakamlang health post in ward-1 on 23rd of each month, Sahalkot health post in ward 2 on 22nd of each month, Jhirubas health post in ward 3 on 21st of each month and Mityal health post in ward 4 on 11th each month.

Likewise, the service is freely available at Galdha health post in ward 5 on 14th each month, Archale health post in ward 6 on 12th of each month and Jyamire health post in ward 7 on 13th each month, he further informed.

The service has been provided to the pregnant women since August 27. Coordinator Disa said, “We have begun the service after the province government sent a trained health worker for this”.

Hira Kumari Khamcha, a local of Nisdi-4, said that the availability of and access to health services in wards have ended up their hassles in receiving service.

“Pregnant women did not tend to get their health examined due to travel hassles. The service at village has been a great respite for the target women”.
