Bodies of those killed in Tara Air plane crash airlifted to Kathmandu

Bodies sent to TUTH for postmortem



KATHMANDU: The bodies of all those killed in the Tara Air plane crash have been airlifted to Kathmandu by Nepal Army helicopter.

Nepal Army spokesperson Narayan Silwal said all bodies have been brought to Kathmandu form the incident site, Mustang.

The 10 bodies found at the accident site were airlifted to Kathmandu on Monday.

The bodies have been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for postmortem.

The plane was en route to Jomsom from Pokhara on Sunday when it crashed at the foot of Manapathi peak in Mustang.

Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police were mobilized to search for the bodies at the accident site.

Twenty-two people, including a crew member, were killed in the crash.

The missing plane was found on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, the plane’s Black Box has also been recovered from the incident site, security forces involved in rescue operations said.
