Hetauda people happy over budget announcement to resume garments factory



BAGMATI: The Hetauda people have been happy to hear the budget announcement that Hetauda garments factory, closed for two decades, would be resumed.

Tabling the budget for the fiscal year, 2079/80 on Sunday, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma had announced that the closed garment factory would be brought to operation again. Minister Sharma further stated that the public officials should wear the clothes produced within the country.

Hetauda Industrial Estate chief Rajendra Kandel said government’s decision to resume the sick industries is positive. He argued the factory was closed although it was not in a sorry state. Currently, there is the armed police post in the factory site.

Similarly, Prof Dr Lalit Karna from Institute of Forestry at Hetauda observed that the budget brought on Sunday covered various sectors and importantly, it announced that the Hetauda garment factory would be brought to operation again. Resumption of this industry was a current need and the budget addressed it, he appreciated.

Prof Karna also argued that the government plan to resume Hetauda garment factory had made Hetadua people happy.
