Women’s League: APF, Dhangadhi register big wins



CHITWAN: APF Football Club defeated Waling Municipality Syangja 7-0 and Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city cruised past Lalitpur Metropolitan City 6-0 in the National Women’s League 2078 being held in Chitwan on Thursday.

Sabitra Bhandari scored four and Anita KC, Saru Limbu and Anita Basnet scored one each in the departmental side’s big win over Waling.

KC opened the scoring in the 24th minute before Limbu doubled in the 40th. Bhandari scored twice in the 52nd and 66th minute and added two more after Basnet scored in the 75th.

Bhandari completed her hat-trick in the 80th minute and scored her fourth a minute later.

In the second game of the day, Chandar Bhandari scored twice and Anjana Thulung Rai, Birsana Chaudhary, Mamata Pun and Anita Lamzel scored the other goals in Dhangadhi’s win over Lalitpur.

Rai scored the team’s first in the ninth minute. Bhandari doubled the lead a minute later and Pun added a third in the 39th. After Bhandari scored her second in the 55th, Chaudhary scored the team’s fifth in the 64th minute. Lamzel scored the sixth in the 70th.

Dhangadhi remain in the top position due to better goal difference over second-placed APF. Pointless Waling are in the bottom and Lalitpur are sixth as the third round of matches came to an end.
