Nepal reaches final in tri-nation series one match prior

KATHMANDU: Nepal has entered the final of the ongoing tri-nation T20I series bagging a victory against PNG on Thursday’s match.

To lead Nepal to final one match earlier, Karan KC took 5 wickets including a hat-trick in the final over.

Nepal defeated PNG by 37 runs.

PNG’s Charles Amini scored the highest 62 runs. He struck nine fours in 47 balls. Apart from that, Tony Ura scored 43, Sesse Bau scored 25 and Norman Vanua scored 17.

KC bowled 3.4 overs. Similarly, Sompal Kami and Avinash Bohara took two wickets each while captain Sandeep Lamichhane took one wicket.

Earlier, after losing the toss, Nepal lost seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs and put up a total of 203 runs. Dipendra Singh Airee, who completed his half-century by batting aggressively from Nepal, scored 66 runs off 33 balls with three fours and four sixes while Adil scored 31 runs off 11 balls with one four and three sixes.

Earlier, Nepal’s openers Kushal Bhurtel and Ashif Sheikh added 17 and 38 runs respectively. Besides, Rohit Kumar Poudel added 41 runs for the Nepali team. Similarly, Dilip Nath was knocked out when Karan KC scored one run. PNG’s Kabua Morea took three wickets. Riley Hakure took two wickets and Norman Vanua and Nosaina Pokana took one wicket each.
