Cabinet decision: Four ministers to accompany PM Deuba to India

Promotes Singh, Pant and Dhanuk to AIGs



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is leaving for southern neighbor India on a three-day official visit on Friday.

A cabinet meeting held in Baluwatar finalized names of four ministers who will accompany Prime Ministers during his official visit to India.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Narayan Khadka, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Mahendra Raya Yadav and Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada will accompany Prime Minister Deuba to India, said a minister.

Prime Minister Deuba is scheduled to meet with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Saturday.

Similarly, the cabinet meeting also promoted three Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) to the posts of Additional Inspector Generals (AIGs) of Nepal Police.

The meeting promoted DIGs Dheeraj Pratap Singh, Basant Kumar Pant and Rabindra Bahadur Dhanuk.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had on March 15 recommended them for promotion.
