EC to impose election code of conduct from April 8

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) is making preparations to implement the election code of conduct for the upcoming local level elections from April 8.

A source at the Election Commission has said an all-party meeting to discuss the election code of conduct has been called on April 5 to this effect.

The election code of conduct will be implemented by incorporating suggestions given by the representatives of the political parties in the all-party meeting, the EC said.

The Commission has been holding interactions in the capitals of all the seven provinces including Nepal-India borders since last Wednesday to check the violations of the election code of conduct by the candidates.
