KATHMANDU: The CPN United Socialist Party has called a standing committee meeting to take a decision on whether to join the CPN-Unified Socialist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’-led government or not.

According to Unified Socialist’s  Deputy General Secretary and Office Secretary Gangalal Tuladhar, the standing committee meeting called for tomorrow (Saturday) at 11 am will come up with the party’s formal stand on the Prachanda-led government.

Prime Minister Prachanda has asked Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal to join the government.

According to sources, there were mixed responses about joining the government.

Deputy General Secretary Tuladhar said that a decision will be taken at the meeting held tomorrow.

“On the issue of whether to join the government or not, the secretariat meeting took a ‘wait and see’ policy. The standing committee and politburo meeting will take a decision on whether to support the Prachanda-led government or not,” he said.
