Uddhav Thapa elected NC’s PP leader of Province-1



MORANG: Uddhav Thapa has been elected as the leader of the Nepali Congress Province-1 parliamentary party (PP).

Thapa, who is close to NC leader Krishna Prasad SItaula, garnered 18 votes

Kedar Karki who contested with Thapa got 9 votes and Amrit Aryal got 2 votes. Nepali Congress has 29 MPs in the state assembly.

According to the NC statute, a leader should get 51 percent of the votes to get elected as the PP leader, which means that the PP leader should garner 15 out of 29 votes in today’s election.
