Students skip classes to avoid cold in Mahottari

MAHOTTARI: With the dip in temperature due to thick fog and cold wave in the district, more number of students skipped their classes to escape from the cold.

Most of the schools here have announced winter vacation considering the biting cold.

All schools in Manrashishawa Municipality have announced winter vacation.

“The days are with no or little sunshine for three days. The cold wave is taking place in the daytime. The winter vacation is announced until next Friday,” Mayor Mohan Pandey said.

There are altogether 16 schools in the municipality. Likewise, arrival of students in other local levels in the district has sharply decreased due to excessive cold for the past some days.

The local levels are preparing to give holiday for the students if the weather condition remains unchanged.

Meanwhile, Matihani Municipality has started distribution of bag along with nutritious food to the new-moms under the ‘Sunaula Hazar Din’ (the golden 1,000 days), a community action for nutrition.
