NC joint general secy urges Home Minister to systematize travel during festivals



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Joint General Secretary Mahendra Yadav has urged the government to make the transport sector systematic and convenient during the festival period.

In a meeting with Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand on Tuesday (today), Yadav drew the government’s attention towards making arrangements for safe and convenient travel in the public transportation in the context of the nearing big festivals.

On the occasion, the former chief of NC Transport Coordination Department also discussed the statute of the Truck Entrepreneurs Federation.

Discussions were held regarding incorporating in the statute the present issues seen in the transport sector, said Madhusudan Bhattarai, the Home Minister’s press coordinator.

During the meeting, Home Minister Khand said that the government was conscious regarding better managing the transport during the festival period.

He said initiatives are being made right from the present for making the public transport well-managed and smooth with the approaching big festivals.

Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey was also present in the meeting.
