Maoist Center only force bearing Maoist tag in country, Baburam is not Maoist: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ claimed that Maoist Center is the only force bearing Maoist tag in the country.

Addressing the party’s liaison coordination provincial committee training on Saturday, Chair Prachanda said that Maoist Center was the only organization bearing Maoist’s tag in the country.

“In upcoming election, Maoist Center is the only Maoist, it is clear that others are of no use,” he said, adding, “Kiran Maoist is of no use, Biplav Maoist also has no meaning anymore, Baburam Bhattarai is not a Maoist, so he is not counted.”

He further added, “In the past 10 years, it has been confirmed that there is only one Maoist in the country and its leader is Prachanda.”

Prachanda said that the possibility of getting around 175 seats at the local level could not be fulfilled due to the bitterness of the electoral coordination.

“We won 122 seats and lost 50,” he said. “If we had won 20 more seats, we would have been third, but that would not have been decisive victory. Currently, we are the decisive third force.”

He said that it is his hoped to once again bring the reins of the country into the hands of the Maoists and set an example of good governance and development.
