KATHMANDU: A climate change summit has been organized at the base camp of Sagarmatha (Mt Everest), the world’s tallest peak.
The event titled ‘World’s Highest Climate Summit-2022’ was held on May 29 on the occasion of the International Sagarmatha Day. The event was hosted by the World Record Holder Society.
According to Society President Sancha Rai, the summit also attended by environment scientists from the United States of America aimed to draw the global attention towards the climate change issues at present and the minimization of its impacts.
Environment scientists Joanna Lambert (University of Colorado) and Joel Berger (Colorado State University) were among those attending the summit.
They presented reports covering the issues of existing scenario of climate change, its impact and minimization, it is said.
