Process for AIG promotion in Armed Police Force begins



KATHMANDU: The government has taken forward a process of fulfilling the vacancy of IGP of the Armed Police Force (APF) which is set to be vacant from May 2.

The promotion recommendation committee at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday issued a vacancy notice asking the qualified APF officials to submit applications by Tuesday.

IGP Pushpa Ram KC, who is currently the member secretary of the recommendation committee, and AIG Ram Sharan Paudel are getting compulsory retirement on age ground.

The aspirants are likely to have only one day (Tuesday) for submitting required documents since Saturday, Sunday and Monday are holidays.

DIG Raju has already been promoted to the post of AIG on the seniority basis. He is taking over the post of IGP from May 2.

DIG Narayan Datta Paudel is atop the seniority followed by Chandra Prakash Gautam and Bangshi Dahal. Paudel and Gautam had been promoted to the post of DIG on October 30, 2018 along with Aryal.

Dahal had been promoted to the post of DIG 15 months after the promotion of Paudel and Dahal on February 5, 2020.

Aryal, Paudel and Dahal had joined the police service on March 31, 1998.
