Judicial Council recommends transfer of 87 high court justices

KATHMANDU: The Judicial Council (JC) has recommended the transfer of 87 high court judges.

A JC meeting held on Wednesday has made various seven-point decisions and recommended the transfer of 87 judges.

The JC meeting also decided to recommend the government to appoint Patan High Court Judge Mahesh Prasad Pudasaini as the chairman of the military special court.

Likewise, Judge Mahesh Sharma Poudel has been appointed as the chairperson of the appellate committee that hears appeals against the order given by the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority.

Similarly, the meeting also decided to recommend appointing Balendra Rupakheti to the Appellate Committee on reconstruction of earthquake-damaged structures, and Judge of Biratnagar High Court Dr. Ravi Sharma Aryal as the chairman of the Labor Court.

The JC meeting has decided to recommend the government to appoint Judge Ramesh Prasad Rajbhandari of the Pokhara High Court as the law member and chairman of the Revenue Tribunal, Pokhara.
