Malaysia sets a target of 115 runs for Nepal

KATHMANDU: In the ongoing Tri-nation T20I series match played in TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, Malaysia has given a target of 115 runs to Nepal.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Malaysia scored 114 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Karan KC and captain Sandeep Lamichhane took 2 wickets each and Abinash Bohora, Kushal Malla and Dipendra Singh Airee too 1 wicket each in the match against Malaysia.

In the last five games against Malaysia, Nepal has won 4 and lost 1.

In 2020, Nepal lost to Malaysia by 22 runs in ACC Eastern Region T20 Cricket. Since then, Nepal has defeated Malaysia in both the matches of the tri-nation series involving Nepal, the Netherlands, and Malaysia in 2021.

In the first match of the ongoing series, Nepal beat Papua New Guinea by 15 runs. Malaysia also got off to a happy start with an 8-run victory over Papua New Guinea.

From the Nepali team, Dilip Nath is making his debut in T20 International from today’s game.
