Nepal sees 3,540 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours

KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 3,540 new cases of coronavirus and  in the past 24 hours as of Sunday.

Of the confirmed cases today, 3,039 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 491 from the antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, there were 32 coronavirus-related deaths have been added to the COVID-19 death tally in the past 24 hours. According to Dr. Sangita Mishra, the spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, the death cases added to the tally are the cases adjusted from January16 to 30. With this, the COVID-19 death toll in the country is 11,735 to date.

Currently, there are 83,999 active cases in the country.

In the past 24-hour period, 6,359 infected patients recovered.
