Political change was possible due to martyrs’ sacrifice: PM Deuba



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said people’s rule in the country was established following the massive political changes due to martyrs’ sacrifice and dedication for the country’s development and transformation, keeping aside their personal interests.

In a message given on the occasion of Martyrs Day today, PM Deuba said that different political changes from 2007BS to 2062/63 BS remained successful for the establishment of democracy in the country due to the martyrs’ devotion, dedication and sacrifices.

In his message, PM Deuba also expressed heartfelt condolences to all known and unknown martyrs for sacrificing their priceless lives for the cause of democracy and the democratic system in the country.

PM Deuba has wished for a speedy recovery for those injured during their struggles for democracy.

“The independence and self-respect we have been enjoying today, and the citizen’s access to all levels and structures of the state is established and the country’s advancement to whatever form of governance today is all made possible due to the contribution from the martyrs,” according to the PM.

Deuba has recalled the contributions of great martyrs Dasharath Chand, Shukra Raj Shashtri, Dharma Bhakta Mathema and Ganga Lal Shrestha and all martyrs who lost their lives in different movements.

The PM has wished the Martyrs Day inspired all to materialize a dream of beautiful Nepal envisioned by the martyrs and followed the path of truth, justice and equality shown by the martyrs.
