India “excited” about working with Nepal’s new govt: MEA

India said it is “excited” about working with the new government in Nepal, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on Thursday.  “Our Prime Minister congratulated Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Nepalese PM also responded and said he wants friendly relations,” Bagchi said in New Delhi today.

Govt to bring Minimum Common Program within 5 days

The meeting of the seven-party ruling coalition has decided to bring the government’s Common Minimum Program within five days. The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar, has also decided to appoint CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli as the coordinator of the ruling alliance.

Security officials needs approval from Home Ministry to meet political leaders

The Ministry of Home Affairs has asked officials of all security organs to not meet political leaders without obtaining approval of Home Ministry. From now on, security agency officials will have to seek permission from Home Ministry to meet them.

NRB to issue repo worth Rs 50 billion

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is to issue repo worth Rs 50 billion for managing the liquidity in bank and financial institutions. The Central Bank is issuing the repo for liquidity management as a large amount of money would go out from the banking system in the form of revenue upon payment of the first installment of the income tax on January 14.

Nepal-India joint military training concludes

Nepal-India battalion-level joint training exercise “Surya Kiran-XVI’ that kicked off at the Nepal Army Battle School at Saljhandi of Rupandehi district on December 16 has concluded. The exercise focused on search, rescue efforts and healthcare during the disaster management period, counter insurgency and counter terrorism.
