Voter list updating program commences

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has launched a voter list updating program for the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly.

The EC published collected details of voters at ward level on Sunday. Thereafter, the designated official to register voters list will allocate time to make claim and objection over the electoral roll.

Under this, things like correction of errors in details on the electoral roll, removal of names from the voters list, change of address and polling stations and removal of duplicate names will take place.

The concerned voter will be given time for a clarification when a complaint about fake details has been filed.

The concerned authorities have been asked to complete the campaign and send the details to the Commission within September 9.

The EC is scheduled to approve and publish the final electoral roll on its website on September 16.
