Over Rs 69.38 billion allocated for health sector

KATHMANDU: The government has allocated Rs 69.38 billion budget for the health sector in the upcoming fiscal year 2022/23, it was shared by Minister for Finance Janardan Sharma.

The current allocation is Rs 52 billion lesser than the previous year’s. Earlier, Rs 122 billion was allocated, majority of the allocation was for COVID-19 prevention, control and cure.

Minister Sharma is currently presenting the budget for the upcoming fiscal year before a joint session of the Federal Parliament.

Earlier on May 24, President Bidya Devi Bhandari had presented policies and programmes of the incumbent government for the upcoming fiscal year.

The government generally announces the budget being based on its policy and progammes for the given time.
