Tara Air update: Search operation affected due to inclement weather conditions



KATHMANDU: The search operation for an aircraft of Tara Air, which went missing this morning, has been affected due to inclement weather conditions in the mountainous Lete area of Mustang.

With 22 persons, including 19 passengers and three crew members on board, the aircraft lost contact while flying to Mustang’s Jomsom from Pokhara this morning.

Two helicopters were mobilized to search for Tara Air’s aircraft that went missing on Sunday morning.

A Tara Air aircraft flying from Pokhara to Jomsom in Mustang lost contact somewhere near Lete of Mustang, it is learned.

According to Chief District Officer of Kaski, Jay Narayan Acharya, a helicopter of the Nepal Army and one private company were mobilized.

A Nepal Army helicopter was sent from Kathmandu while a Fishtail Air helicopter from Mustang was mobilized for the search.

According to Pokhara Airport Information Officer Devraj Subedi, the aircraft with 22 people on board lost contact on Sunday morning.

The plane had left Pokhara at 9:55 in the morning.

The aircraft had 13 Nepali, four Indian and two German passengers, according to airport sources.
