Maoist Chair Prachanda appeals for unity for institutionalizing republic system

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Maoist Centre Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has appealed to all political forces for working together for safeguarding, developing and consolidating federal democratic republic system in the country.

In a message of best wishes on Republic Day-2079 BS today, he called for entire nationalists, leftists, progressive and democratic forces to get united for deepening republican values.

Dahal further claimed that the present left-democrat alliance has emerged as a trusted alternative force towards achieving the constitutionally-enshrined goal of socialism with change and progress.

Big political changes have been made possible in the country through struggle, collaboration and transformation among different political thoughts and tendencies in different periods of time, he said, adding the left and democratic forces have been working in unison in difficult time.

Dahal, who served the country as the first Prime Minister of Republican Nepal, extended homage to all known-unknown martyrs who sacrificed their lives in want of change in the country.

Today is the day Nepali people had abolished autocratic monarchy and established federal democratic republic through struggle, Dahal said, adding the country is moving to the journey of prosperity as part of the campaign for overall transformation of Nepali society.

“We have come to the present time by overcoming undemocratic, unconstitutional and autocratic tendencies surfaced in course of the execution of the constitution. The local level election has been held with excitement as part of our shared commitment for institutionalizing federal democratic republic”, the message reads.
