JEMC to print ballot papers under cover of 150 security personnel

KATHMANDU: Janak Education Material Center (JEMC) is set to print ballot papers for the upcoming local level elections under the monitoring of 150 security personnel.

The local level elections will be held on May 13.

The JEMC is set to print the ballot papers after the Election Commission (EC) decided to print a model ballot paper on March 31 and print 20 million ballot papers.

Information Officer of JEMC Chitra Kumar Acharya said a team of Nepal Army is making a filed visit to the site of the printing press today.

“The ballot papers will be printed under the monitoring of 150 security personnel. We will start printing ballot papers as soon as we receive direction from the EC,” said Acharya, adding, “A team of Nepal Army is arriving for security.”
Nine printing machines are standby to print 20 million ballot papers under the three-tier of security.
