Team Binaya Basnet announces candidacy for NATTA election



KATHMANDU: A panel led by Binaya Basnet announced its candidacy for the new leadership of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) in its election scheduled for March 31.

Organizing a news conference on Monday, the panel was announced with Sudhir Kumar Upadhyay as the candidate for senior-vice president and Sunil Sharma for vice-president.

Likewise, Jiswan Tuladhar Shrestha is vying for the post of general secretary, Pragya Sharma for secretary, sudarshan Nepal and Gita Dhakal for treasurer and joint-treasurer, respectively.

Other candidates for the working committee are Bishnu Pandey, Sudarshan Poudel, Sadhuram Thapa, Dinesh Mainali, Santosh Gurung, Chuda Jimba, Sumanlal Shrestha and Raj Kumar Pathak.

During the news conference, candidate of president Basnet said he would play role to bring in more tourists in the country as business of the country’s travel and tour operators was in a shambles after the outbreak of coronavirus infection.

Out of almost 2,800 travel and tour companies in the country, 400 of them are the members of NATTA.

Two separate panels led by Basnet and Ramesh Thapa are vying for the new leadership of NATTA. The panel led by Thapa had announced its candidacy on Sunday.
