Voting to elect Congress Bagmati Province parliamentary party Leader begins



HETAUDA: Voting has started to elect the leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party.

The polling, which was supposed to start at 2 PM, started at 3:15 PM.

According to NC sources, voting could not start at the scheduled time due to a dispute over whether or not to allow cell phones to the polling place.

After both the candidates, Province Chairman Indra Bahadur Baniya and NC Central Member Bahadur Singh Lama, decided agreed not to carry mobile phones, the voting started 1 hour and 15 minutes later than the scheduled time.

The polling will continue till 4:15 pm, said Chandra Maharjan, the coordinator of the province leader Election Committee of Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party.

For the leader of the parliamentary party, 37 state parliamentarians, including 25 directly elected and 12 proportionally elected, will vote from the election held on November 20.
