PM Dahal initiates efforts to bring Unified Socialist, JSP on board

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has initiated efforts to include the United Socialist Party and the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) in the government.

Prachanda met with Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of the Unified Socialist Party, and JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav.

In the meeting held at the residence of PM Dahal’s residence in Lalitpur this morning, the party leaders discussed cabinet expansion, among others.

Sources have claimed that Socialist Chair Nepal is displeased with PM Dahal for breaking the alliance with Nepali Congress and joining the CPN-UML.

A Maoist leader said that PM Dahal is expected to expand the cabinet after the parliament session begins on January 9, 2023.

The leader said, “PM Dahal currently has intensified discussions with various party leaders for cabinet expansion.”
