Squatters clash with police in Thapathali



KATHMANDU: Squatters clashed with the police in Thapathali settlement when the latter came on behalf of the metropolis trying to dismantle the illegally-built huts in the area.

The squatters started pelting stones at the police when the security forces tried to enter the settlement.

Likewise, the locals also protested by burning tires on the road.

The High-Powered Committee for Integrated Development of Bagmati Civilization mobilized police to remove the squatter settlements.

Similarly, Dinesh Aryal, City Police Superintendent of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, informed that the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) also mobilized police in the area.
