Election alliance today’s need: NC leader Koirala

MORANG: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Shekhar Koirala said alliance among political parties for upcoming elections was today’s need of the country.

The NC will forge an election alliance and this is the most pressing need of the hour, he said while inaugurating a training session organized in Morang Sunday by the NC Morang constituency-6.

NC should get at least 100 seats in the November 20 federal parliamentary election, he said, adding the deal should be made with the coalition parties accordingly.

NC should keep with itself the constituencies the party won in the federal parliament and province assembly polls in 2074 BS, he said, laying emphasis that the party’s representation should be ensured in the federal parliament or the province assembly in all 77 districts.

The party and the government should work to maintain good governance and transparency keeping responsiveness to the people at the center, he suggested.

Similarly, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Province 1 Kedar Karki stressed the need for NC leaders and cadres to reach out to the people’s doorsteps to win their confidence for vote.

Party central members Dr Dila Sangraula and Rukmini Koirala urged cadres to make party victorious with majority in upcoming elections while party Morang vice president and mayor of Biratnagar Metropolitan City Nagesh Koirala underscored the need for party cadres to come together for the polls forgetting bitterness if any in the past.
