Eight spa operators arrested from Lakeside, Pokhara



POKHARA: Police in Kaski have arrested eight spa operators from Lakeside, Pokhara, on charges of running spa centers in violation of regulations.

According to the District Police Office, Kaski, those arrested include Hom Bahadur Budhathoki (47), Jenisha Shrestha Sunar (24), Sharmila Pariyar (23), Suresh BK (42), Jeevan Shrestha (27), Aprina Khatun (30), Raju Thapa Magar (44), and Saroj Sunar (28), all residents of Pokhara.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Basnet said they were accused of operating spa centers against set standards, employing female workers inappropriately, and being involved in or facilitating illegal activities within the premises.

Police said the women rescued from the spa centers have been handed over to their families and relatives. An investigation into the case is currently underway.
