National Assembly meeting taking place today



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the National Assembly (NA) is taking place today afternoon.

According to Rajendra Phuyal, Secretary at the National Assembly, there is an agenda to inform about the letter received from the Office of the President regarding the Citizenship Bill sent back by the President for reconsideration.

The Parliament Secretariat has published the agenda for discussion on some other bills passed by the House of Representatives.

The HoR has already passed the Citizenship Bill and sent it to the National Assembly for endorsement.

If endorsed by the NA, the Bill will then be sent to President Bidya Devi Bhandari once again for authentication.

The Bill will then become a law if the President authenticates it within 15 days.
