Landslide again disrupts Dumre-Besisahar road



LANJUNG: The Dumre-Besisahar road section in Lamjung has been disrupted again due to flood and landslide with incessant rain since last night.

Landslide occurred at Deurali Danda in Besisahar municipality-1, Udipur had obstructed the road section.

According to Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Krishna Bahadur Karki, the debris of landslide with boulders at Riththe Bazaar blocked the road.

Vehicular movement has come to a halt due to road blockage, he shared. The incessant rain since last night caused landslide blocking the road traffic.

The road section has witnessed frequent landslides since last year. It may be noted that the flood and landslides occurred on last August had taken away road section at Deurali Danda.

Following frequent disruptions on the road, an alternative route has been operated along the road section through the forest area.

Flood and landslide had also swept away the route and another alternative road was brought into operation.

The repeated disruptions of the road have hit hard the passengers travelling through alternative route as well. Passengers travelling to and from Besisahar are facing trouble due to traffic disruptions.
