Bamdev Gautam announcing a new party today



KATHMANDU: National Assembly (NA) lawmaker and former Home Minister Bamdev Gautam is announcing a new political party today.

Gautam, who quit the CPN-UML recently amid differences with UML Chairman KP Oli, is organizing a press conference on Tuesday afternoon to announce the new party, a leader close to Gautam said.

Earlier, Gautam had worked as the coordinator of the Nepal Communist Party’s Ekta Rastriya Abhiyan.

Gautam, who was defeated by Bardiya in the last elections to the House of Representatives, was recommended by the then Nepal Communist Party government as a member of the National Assembly.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari had appointed Gautam to the National Assembly on the recommendation of the then Council of Ministers led by Prime Minister KP Oli.
