Laws should be revised and amended to make local level effective: Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress lawmaker Gagan Kumar Thapa underscored the need for amending laws to make the local level effective.

There should be a focus on providing fertilizers to farmers in time and treatment to patients in an easy way, he said at today’s session of the House of Representatives.

Stating that country’s economy is in trouble partly due to the increment of trade deficit, the leader called for all to do their part to resolve the problem.

He suggested that the government imposes a blanket ban on the import of goods so as to address the economic problem and increase the reserves of US dollars. It should also focus on the exports, he added.

The government should provide a respite to consumers to address the pressure created by price increment of petroleum products, he said.
