There is a constitutional obligation to bring the budget for the coming Fiscal Year 2079/080 tomorrow, Sunday. Prior to that, the policy and program should be passed by the parliament.

Today’s meeting of the House of Representatives will begin at 11 am. In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, the economic survey of the fiscal year 2078/79 will be tabled, according to Finance Minister Janardan Sharma. There is a constitutional provision that this survey should be submitted before the budget is presented.

Though preparations were made to pass the policy and program on Friday, the discussion will continue on Saturday as the lawmakers could not finish their deliberations. On the other hand, the upper house National Assembly has already passed the policy and program following discussion on Friday.

Discussions on the policy and program began simultaneously in both the houses of the federal parliament.
