NC top leaders in discussion to pick names for parliamentary committee

KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has started informal discussions among the top leaders to work out the names of the leaders to represent the party’s parliamentary committee.

According to NC sources, top leaders including the office bearers and former office bearers are attending the meeting at Prime Minister and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s office.

NC is going to form a 25-member parliamentary committee to select the candidates.

The top leaders, including Dr. Shekhar Koirala, are holding discussions to finalize the names of the leaders to be included in the committee. The office bearers are ex-officio members of the parliamentary committee and the remaining former office bearers will also be included.

Efforts are being made to include Dr. Koirala, who is ranked 28th in the central executive committee, in a 25-member parliamentary committee. However, NC has to remove someone from the former office bearers list to include him.
