NEPSE downtrend continues, stock market declines by 43.12 points Monday



KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has witnessed the continuation of downtrend on the second transaction day of the week, Monday.

The NEPSE index decreased by 43.12 points dropping to 2610.58 today.

Similarly, the Sensitive Index has declined by 6.64 points, the Float Index by 2.81 points and the Sensitive Float Index by 2.14 points.

A total of 783,415,915 shares of 227 companies worth Rs 3.66 billion were traded on Monday. A total of Rs 3.27 billion was bought and sold on Sunday. There was a modest increase in the transaction amount on Monday compared to Sunday.

Thirteen sub-groups of Nepse have been formed overnight. Among them, the index of the largest hydropower sub-group has declined by 3.09 percent.

Likewise, the indices of finance, investment, life insurance, manufacturing and processing, non-life insurance and trade subgroups declined by more than 2 percent.

Shares of Tehrathum Power Company and Samling Power Company traded at negative circuit levels on Monday. Similarly, the share price of Divyashwori Hydropower declined by 8.5 percent.
