Suspicious object found outside parliament building defused



KATHMANDU: A suspicious object found near the gate of Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwor on Monday has been defused.

A bomb disposal team of the Nepali Army defused the pressure cooker, suspected to be a bomb, left outside the parliament building.

According to police, a pressure cooker with ‘No MCC’ written was found at 11 am.

Six different parties, including Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand alias ‘Biplav’, had announced Nepal Bandh today in protest of the US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
