Suspicious object found in front of parliament building



KATHMANDU: A suspicious object has been found near the gate of Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwor on Monday.

According to police, a pressure cooker with a few words reading ‘No MCC’ was found at 11 am. A bomb disposal of Nepal Army is making preparations to defuse the object.

“A pressure cooker with words reading ‘No MCC’ was found near the southern gate of the federal parliament building. It has been suspected as a bomb,” said Hari Bahadur Pal, the chief of Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari.

Six different parties including Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand alias ‘Biplav’ have announced Nepal Bandh today in protest of the US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
