Suspicious object found in Banepa, defused

KAVRE: A bomb disposal team of Nepal Army has defused a suspicious object found near pool bazaar along the Arniko Highway in Banepa municipality in Kavre district on Monday morning.

A bomb disposal team deployed from Kali Jung battalion, Dhulikhel defused the suspicious object wrapped in a read bag with a few words reading ‘No MCC.’

Meanwhile, police have arrested a man on the charge of planting the suspicious object on the road.

The arrested has been identified as Yuganta Thing, a cadre of Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand alias ‘Biplav.’

Thing had planted the object on the road at 7 am today, according to SP Chakra Raj Joshi of District Police Office, Kavre.
He said they are investigating the case after taking Thing under control.

Arniko Highway had been disrupted after the suspicious object was found on the road. The highway has now come into operation following the disposal of the suspicious object.

With the ratification of the MCC, the violent activities are taking place in some places of the country. Six communist parties including Biplav-led Nepal Communist Party have announced Nepal Bandh today.
