1 killed, 2 injured in stone quarry landslide



KATHMANDU: A tipper driver has died in a landslide that occurred in a stone quarry in Banepa of Kavre district.

The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Shyam Magar of Doramba rural municipality, Ramechhap.

Magar died when a boulder came rolling down from above and crushed him along with the tripper he was sitting in, said District Police Office, Kavre.

Two other people have sustained injuries. The injured are Samir Tamang and Arjun Sarki, said SP Chakra Raj Joshi. They are receiving treatment at Thimi-based Madhyapur Hospital.
