COVID-infected people avoiding isolation pose threat to public health: NC Gen Secy Sharma

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said COVID-19 infected people not staying in quarantine posed serious threat to the public health.

Chairman of the main opposition CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli was seen attending public events after the virus infection was confirmed in him.

Referring to the UML chair but without naming, General Secretary Sharma pointed out that it was everyone’s responsibility to stay in isolation after contracting the virus.

“It is the responsibility of each one of us to stay in “isolation” once the infection is confirmed. Not obeying this rule is not bravery but an act of irresponsibility, violation of law and posing serious threat to the lives of other citizens,” he tweeted Friday.

Of late, Sharma contracted the coronavirus for the second time. He wrote that he is resuming his duties as NC general secretary from today after having spent adequate time in isolation.

“I am returning to work after staying in complete isolation,” he said.
