UML’s Mahato elected from Mahottari-1

MAHOTTARI: Laxmi Mahato of CPN-UML has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Mahottari-1.

He won by 1,031 votes, surpassing his nearest contender Girirajmani Pokhrel of the Maoist Centre.

Mahato garnered 24,401 votes while Pokhrel received 23,370 votes.

Similarly, UML’s Sharada Thapa won in the Mahottari-1 (1) state assembly by getting 8,245 votes.
